FORSVARETS FLYSAMLING GARDERMOEN
I visited the airbase of Gardermoen in August 1974 for the first time. By that time I studied at the Royal Military Academy and we participated in an international survival exercise. The arrival in Norway and departure by a KLu F-27 were at Gardermoen. When I made a wandering at the airbase, I found two preserved F-86K Sabres, one (ZK-A/41290) as a monument and one (RI-A/41334) hidden in the bush.
Fifty years later I visited Gardermoen again. Nowadays it is the international airport of Oslo, with still a small military part for the transport fleet of the Norwegian Air Force. And since May 2000 there is the Forsvarets Flysamling, a beautiful museum with a lot of interesting aircraft.
Opening hours are every day from 12.00 till 16.00 at the address Museumsvegen 35, 2060 Gardermoen.
Only two aircraft are outside, an F-5B on a pole and a CF-104. All other aircraft are inside, and many of them can be photographed really well.
